Patrick Patten of Appleton is Found Dead Beside the Railroad Tracks.
Appleton, Wis., Dec. 16 - [Special] - The body of Patrick Patten, an aged resident of this city, was found on the tracks of the Chicago & North-Western railway yesterday morning, cut and mangled almost beyond recognition. Mr. Patten was employed as watchman for the Kaukauna Interurban company, near the place where his lifeless body was found, and it is thought that he was struck by a switch engine some time during the night. The unfortunate man has been a resident of this city for a great many years, was 60 years of age and leaves a wife and four daughters.
