LEWISBURG - Funeral services for Mrs. Ivy Babineaux, the former Lula Mae Prejean, 80, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in St. John Catholic Church here with burial in the church cemetery.
The Rev. Danny Picard will conduct the services.
Mrs. Babineaux, a resident of Lewisburg, died at 10:20 p.m. Tuesday, September 28, 1999, in Doctors' Hospital of Opelousas.
She was a housewife. She was a member of St. Ann's Ladies Altar Society in Lewisburg.
Survivors include: four daughters and their spouses, Mary Champagne and her husband Watson and Betty Cormier and her husband Franklin, all of Lewisburg, Jane Ryder and her husband J.C. "Sonny" Ryder Jr. of Lawtell and Elaine Theriot and her husband Chuck of Opelousas; a daughter-in-law, Libby Babineaux of Opelousas; two sisters, Lou Anna Funck of New Orleans and Wilda Fontenot of Carencro; 13 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Babineaux was preceded in death by her husband, Ivy Babineaux; two sons, Herbert and Larry Paul Babineaux; two sisters, Etta Lou Smith and Yola Stelly Richard; and three brothers, Martin, Lawrence and Alonzo Prejean.
Visiting hours will be observed from 4 to 10 p.m. today and from 7 a.m. Thursday until time of services. A rosary will be recited at 8 p.m.
Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home on the Old Sunset Road in Opelousas is in charge of arrangements.
