Phillip Elmore Hynson, 87, of Winter Haven, passed away Monday, April 23, 2007, at the Winter Haven Hospital.
Born in Mammoth Springs Ark., in 1920, he was of the Episcopal faith. Mr. Hynson was a veteran of World War II, serving as a bomber pilot of B-24's. He completed 53 missions over Germany and was awarded three Bronze Stars.

In 1960, Mr. Hynson and his family moved to Winter Haven where he became a civilian flight instructor at Bartow Air Force Base until it closed.

Phillip was preceded in death by a son, Phillip Holt Hynson.

Survivors include his wife, Bette; his daughter, Rebecca of Lake Wales; a sister, Elizabeth Moore of Shallotte N.C.; three nieces and a nephew.

A private memorial service will be held at Riverside Cemetery in Mammoth Spring, Ark.

In lieu of flowers, a gift in kind can be made to the Winter Haven Library audio books section.
