Mattie died 1900-1904.
According to the 1900 census, her father and mother were born in Georgia and Florida respectively; she was the mother of five children, three living in 1900, so there was another one deceased by 1900.

Rev. Wier married his second wife in Susan Elizabeth Wilson 8 Feb 1904 in Birmingham, Alabama, and had several more children.

Dallas Morning News, June 7, 1931,Section I, p. 6, col. 1:R. O. Wier, Marshall,Retired Minister, Dies "Robert O. Wier, 70, retired Methodist minister of Marshall, died Saturday at 1809 Second avenue. He was in Dallas visiting his daughter, Miss Margaret Wier, a nurse at St. Paul's Hospital. "Mr. Wier was a native of Mississippi. He lived at Atlanta, Ga., before moving to Marshall. He was a member of Yaarab Shrine Temple of Atlanta. "Mr. Wier is survived by five daughters, Miss Wier of Dallas, Miss Frances Calhoun of Crockett, Miss Elizabeth Wier of Marshall, Mrs. B. O. Griffin of Mangrum, La., and Mrs. R. L. Day of El Paso, and a son, Robert W. Wier of San Antonio."

Mattie Almeta Wier married attorney R.L. Day, El Paso, Tx.
