First wife of Dr. William E. Minahan who lost his life in the Titanic disaster. Mary Elizabeth (Dignin) and William E. Minahan met while they were students Oshkosh Normal School, both having aspirations to become teachers. They married in 1893 (Mary was just 17 years old) and had one daughter, Maude Olive. After completing her education, Maude Olive returned to Green Bay and became employed and, as her mother, became a school teacher. William E. Minahan had remarried before losing his life in sinking of the Titanic.
