Parents Garret A Newkirk and Nancy Elsie Cossadt(Cazette.

About 1807-The family history story goes, Garret Newkirk returned to Paris to retrieve "family fortune", but ship goes down, he dies at sea. Nancy leaves their 4 children with 'strangers', returns to France, learns there is no fortune, she remains there and dies in France. Four orphaned children. Story is from his descendants.
George is killed by a horse in 1878.He was a blacksmith.
