Julian Scriabin
Birth: 1908
Death: Jun. 22, 1919

Composer. He was the son of composer Alexander Scriabin, who gave him his first piano lessons. After his father's death in 1915 Julian began composing seriously and was considered to be a prodigy. He drowned in a boating accident at the age of 11. Julian Scriabin's precocious "Four Preludes" for piano survive; the pieces have been recorded several times and are available on CD. (bio by: Robert Edwards)
