She owned a home located at 301 West Main Street in Carmi at the time of her death.

Della was a member of the Burnt Prairie Congregational Christian Church.

Della had 1 living child, Herschel Abbey.

Della was stricken by a heart attack at the age of 77.

Death came suddenly to Mrs Della Boling Wednesday afternoon at 2:39pm in Carmi Township Hospital where she had been taken about an hour previously. She had been in declining health for the past two years; however her condition had not been concidered critical and she went about her usual duties in her home on Wed. not complaining for feeling bad. It is thought she was striken by a heart attackm about 7:30am yesterday morning and upon arrival of a physician the seriousness of her condition was immediatly recognized.

Mrs. Boling who was 77 years old, was a lady who had the respect and esteem of all. She was a lady of most congenial personality and her ever cheerful attitude toword life and her friends endeared her to all with whom she came in contact. She was exceptionally interested in the welfare of others and was charitable to the extreme. She recognized and respected sincerity in others and throughout herlife was admired for her good judgement and splendid business ability.

She was born in Mt Carmel on 4 Oct 1882. Years ago she was married to Austin Boling and they resided west of Carmi untill they moved into the city in 1940. Her husband died Feb 2, 1941 and since that time, Mrs. Boling has operated renatl apartments and rental rooms in Carmi. Several years ago she moved from her Locust Street home to 301 West Main St where she was fatally stricken.

Mrs. Boling was a life long member of the Burnt Prarie Congregational Christian Church and her life daily manifested true christian principles.

Sse is survived by her son, Herschel Abbey of Carmi, eight grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. The funeral for Mrs. Boling will be held Friday afternoon at 2:00pm in the chapel of Kittinger Funeral Home with Dannie F Martin officiating. Burial will be at Maple Ridge Cemetery.

My great great grandmother. An amazing woman and love by anyone who knew her. She was also a shrewd and very well respected businesswoman in a time when women didn't own businesses.
