Walter M. Wyszynski, 92 years old of Elyria, Ohio died on Saturday, March 12, 2011 at Wesleyan Village in Elyria following a long illness.

Mr. Wyszynski was born in Ironwood, Michigan on February 28, 1919 and lived in Elyria for most of his life. He was a graduate of Elyria High School with the class of 1937 and served with the United States Army during WWII where he received the Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon with seven bronze stars and the Philippine Liberation Ribbon with two bronze stars. He was employed as the manager of the Lawson's Store in Lorain for many years and also worked for Elyria City Schools for several years. He was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church, the AMVETS Post 32 and the VFW Post 1079 and he enjoyed gardening and fishing.

Mr. Wyszynski if survived by one daughter, Mary Lou DiLuciano of Elyria; one son, Larry J. Wyszynski of Strongsville; two grandchildren, Susan and Bo Wyszynski; and one sister, Margaret Barron, both of Elyria.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose M. (nee Treboniak) in 1983; one sister, Dorothy Marvin; two brothers, Chester and John Wyszynski; and his parents, Chester and Lucy (nee Jareski) Wyszynski.

Friends will be received at the Reichlin Roberts Funeral Home, 327 Cleveland Street, Elyria, Ohio on Tuesday, March 15, 2011 from 5-8 P.M. Closing prayers will be on Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at 9:30 A.M. in the funeral home followed by mass at 10:00 A.M. at St Jude Catholic Church, 590 Poplar Street, Elyria, Ohio. The Reverend Father Frank P. Kosem, Pastor, will officiate. Burial with full military honors provided by the VFW Post 1079 will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain, Ohio.
