W. F. Epple, dead at 84
William F Epple, 84, 411 West Highland, died Wednesday at his home. Services will be Saturday at Roesch Brothers chapel at 9 a.m. with Rev. Paul H. Hertmann, pastor of St. John's Lutheran church, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview cemetery.
A retired railroad engineer. Epple was born in Germany and came to the United States when he was 17. He came to Oklahoma before statehood and settled at McAlester. He had resided in Shawnee since moving here in 1905.
He was a member of St. John's Lutheran church. Shawnee Masonic lodge No. 107 AF and AM and the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers. He retired from the Rock Island in May, 1938.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Epple, of the home, two sons, David S., Los Angeles, Calif., and William F. Jr., 213 West Highland; one grandson, Karl Epple, Los Angeles, Calif.; one granddaughter, Barbara Lee Epple, 212 West Highland, and one brother, August Epple, Muskogee.
Roesch Brothers is in charge of arrangements.
