Professional Hockey Player. A native of Buffalo, New York, Brownschidle played for teams in the NHL, NCAA, CHL, AHL, WCHA, and the NYJHL hockey leagues. At 6'02", and 200lbs, Brownschidle played the position of Defense for the Amherst Knights from 1975 to 1977, University of Notre Dame from 1977 to 1981, United States from 1978 to 1979, Hartford Whalers from 1981 to 1983, Binghamton Whalers from 1981 to 1984, and the Salt Lake Golden Eagles from 1983 to 1984. Brownschidle retired from playing hockey after the 1983 to 1984 season. His brother Jack Brownschilde was also a hockey player. Brownschidle was killed on December 13, 1996, at the age of 37, in a car accident in Buffalo, New York.
