Harper Man, 71, Taken By Death
Irvin Urah Vermillion Bird, 71, Harper, died at
his residence at 8:30 a.m. today following an ex-
tended illness.
Born July 27, 1887, at Athens, he was a son of
the late Harmon and Hester Bird.
A resident of Raleigh County for the past 46
years, Bird was a farmer and a member of the Bap-
tist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Willie Mae Bird;
four sons, Robert Lee and Victor Hugo, both of
Syracuse, N. Y.; Waldo Walter, South Bend, Ind.,
and Norman Henry, Harper; four daughters, Mrs.
Kathryn Virginia Jaquin, Mrs. Mary Jane Otis, and
Mrs. Florence Marie Falcone, all of Syracuse; and
Mrs. Ruth Lorraine Cook, Houston, Tex.; two bro-
thers, Noah W. Bird, and Levi S. Bird, Speedway.
The body will remain at the Calfee Funeral Home
pending the completion of arrangements.
