Thomas Caton, 37
Victim of fall at work

Thomas W. Caton, 37, of 394 Prospect St., Phillipsburg, died at 4:05 p.m. yesterday at Warren Hospital where he was admitted May 12 with injuries suffered at work.

He had suffered a fractured skull, a fractured shoulder and internal injuries when he fell approximately 20 feet from an overhead beam while at work at the Warren Foundry and Pipe Division plant of Shahmoon Industries Inc., Phillipsburg.

Mr. Caton was employed by Shahmoon as a welder since 1958. He was employed formerly by Bethlehem Steel Co., Bethlehem, and Ingersoll-Rand Co., West Easton, also as a welder.

He was a veteran of U.S. Navy service in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He was a graduate of Phillipsburg Catholic High School, class of 1943.

He was a member of Sts. Phillip and James Catholic Church, Jersey Hose Co. No. 1, and Slovak-American Club, all of Phillipsburg.

Surviving are his widow, the former Betty Morrison: two children, Thomas W. Jr., and Patricia M., at home: three brothers, Joseph, Edward and Philip, all of Phillipsburg, and five sisters, Mrs. Alfred Lynch, Phillipsburg; Mrs. George Desosso, Peapack, NJ; Mrs Frederick Smith, North Tonawanda, NY, Mrs. William Rumold, Saumur, France, and Miss Margaret Caton, New York City.

The funeral will be held at 8:15 a.m. Tuesday at the Doyle Funeral Home, Phillipsburg, followed by a Requiem Mass at 9 a.m. in Sts. Philip and James Catholic Church.

Service Notice
Thomas W. Caton

A Requiem Mass for Thomas W. Caton, 37, of 394 Prospect St., Phillipsburg, ws celebrated this morning in Sts. Philip and James Catholic Church. Mr Caton died Friday at Warren Hospital.

Rev. Richard Ewing was the celebrant. Interment was in Sts. Philipo and James Cemetery. The pallbearers were John and Robert Gallagher, James Lannan, Albert Crocker, Joseph Hughes, and Joseph Teleky.

The funeral was conducted from the Doyle Funeral Home, Phillipsburg.
