John Henry Traylor
Birth: Mar. 27, 1839
Death: Mar. 19, 1925

Member of Texas house of representatives, 1881; served in the Confederate Army during the Civil War; member Texas state senate, 1883, mayor of Dallas, TX, 1898-1900. Traylor and city attorney William P. Ellison are credited with devising the commission form of city government, though this type of system was not implemented elsewhere for another two years.
