Larry was born July 6, 1947, in Dixon, IL, the son of Harold and Betty (Clayton) Lempke.
He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
Survivors include two sons, Larry Lempke Jr. and Steven (Tonya) Lempke; one daughter, Lisa (Matt) Rumph; one step-daughter, Kim Jones; his mother, Betty Morgan; three brothers, Joe Lempke, Bud (Pat) Lempke and John (Jen) Lempke; two sisters, Maxine Ashby and Bobbi Davis and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Visitation will be from 9 – 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 27, 2012, at Preston-Schilling Funeral Home, Dixon, followed by an 11:00 a.m., funeral service at the funeral home, with the Rev. John Kalebaugh, pastor of The Refuge Church, Amboy, officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Dixon.
A memorial has been established.
