She graduated from high school in 1888 at Bolivar, Mo. In 1893 she joined the Order of Eastern Star at Bolivar and maintained her membership 68 years. She was also a member of the Royal Neighbors of America, the Christian church and served as assistant postmaster, all at Bolivar.
February 15, 1896, she was married to Edgar A. Cox, who preceded her in death in 1935 at Geneva, Neb. In 1936 she went to Loveland where she operated a grocery store, later going to Greeley, Col., for a time, then returning to Loveland. In 1946 she moved to her home in Big Thompson canyon.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Paul Henry, with whom she made her home, a granddaughter, Mrs. Patricia Mechling, a great-grandson, Terrence Mechling, both of Estes Park, and a niece, Mrs. John R. Nelson of Casper, Wyo.
Graveside services were held at the Geneva cemetery at 2:30 p. m. Thursday, September 14, with Rev. Clarence W. Mersch of the York Christian church officiating. The Geneva Eastern Star chapter was in charge of the graveside services. Burial was beside her husband who was North Western agent at Geneva prior to his death.
Mrs. Cox’s daughter and husband came to Geneva for the final rites.
