Mrs. Austin P. Salyer, 58, lifetime resident of Georgetown, died in a local hospital Thursday evening, January 11, at 6:30 o'clock after an illness of only a few hours.

Funeral services were held at the Davis Funeral Home Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conduced by Minister Johnny Lewis of the North Houston Church of Christ and Minister Raymond Vick of the Church of Christ of Georgetown.

Those furnishing the songs were Mrs. T.R. Spain, Mrs. Angus Wyatt, Miss Sharon Thomas, L.G. Glover, Sr., J.D. Thomas, Jr., Carl M. Adams, and Melvin McLaughlin.

Pallbearers were Fred Ischy, Jr., Joe Barker, Wilburn Barker, R.V. Barker, Elvin Ischy, Walter Ischy and Nolen Ischy, all nephews of Mrs. Salyer.

Burial was in Berry's Creek Cemetery.

Mrs. Salyer, nee Miss Bessie Ellen Ischy, daughter of Mrs. Louis Ischy of Georgetown and the late Mr. Ischy, was born at Georgetown Texas on April 6, 1903. She became a Christian early in life and united with the Church of Christ, being a devout member of the Strickland Grove CHurch of Christ at the time of her death.

She was married to Austin P. Salyer at Georgetown on November 19, 1919, and to this union two sons were born, one of whom, Ray Paul Salyer, preceded his mother in death at the age of two years and five months.

Mrs. Salyer was revered by all who knew her for her Christian character and kind and friendly disposition. She was devoted to her family and friends.

Survivors include her husband, Austin P. Salyer; son, Eugene D. Salyer; two grandsons, Kenneth, aged 9 and David, aged 6; mother, Mrs. Louis Ischy; two brothers, Fred Ischy and William Ischy; one sister, Mrs. Walter Barker, all of Georgetown, and other relatives and friends.

One brother, John Ischy, preceded his sister in death.
