MRS SARAH LANIUS TAKEN BY DEATH- Mrs Sarah Lanius, 80 year old mother of Mrs Gertrude Lanius Apaplegate, instructor of English at Manual Training High School who died Saturday afternoon at Proctor Hospital in Peoria is to be buried in Cave Hill Cemetery , Louisville, KY by the side of her husband, her parents, and her two daughters. Mrs. Lanius, widow of the late Edward W. Lanius of Louisville, died at 1:40 PM Friday, following an apoplectic stroke. She had been in Peoria with her daughter for some time, but was taken to the hospital when her illness became serious. She was born in Kentucky, January 7, 1844 of pioneer Kentucky stock, her grandparents having migrated to that section from New York and New Jersey in the late 1700's. She spent her entire life in her native state until a year ago, when she came to Peoria to make her home with her only remaining child.

Mrs Applegate has resided in Peoria for several years, her husband having died here about two years ago. She is widely known as an educator. No services will be held in Peoria for Mrs Lanius and the body will be returned to Louisville by Mrs. Applegate, where services will be conducted and the body will be laid to rest in the family plot in Cave Hill Cemetery with her husband, parents and two daughters.
