Carrie R Thomas, 91, Riceville, TN died Saturday, September 22, 2012 in home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Marion, Indiana to the late Clarence and the late Blanche (Olvey) Curtis. She married Gerald I. Thomas on December 7, 1957. He preceded her in death on June 10, 2001.
Carrie retired from RCA in 1982. She was a member of Short Creek Baptist Church and previous member of Liberty Mills Nazarene Church in Ft. Wayne. She enjoyed bird watching, doing number puzzles and living life to the fullest.
Survivors include daughters, Patty Spaulding Sheppard, TN; step-daughter, Gloria Thomas; step-son, Mick Thomas; grandson, William (Yvonne) Spaulding; great-grandchildren, Crystal, Brandon, Nikki, Matthew and Angel; great-great grandchildren, Aiden, Izac, Layla; and sister, Clara Guthrie, Winchester, IN.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence & Blanche Curtis; husband, Gerald I. Thomas; brother, Marion Curtis; sisters, Helen Sargent, Dorothy Kinman, Mary Geesaman and Florence Campbell.
Funeral service is at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 East Main St., Gas City, Indiana with Pastor Terry Fitto officiating. Burial will be in Park Cemetery, Fairmount, IN.
