Born most probably in Manchester and delivered by Dr. J. Horace Farrar up on the square above the present day pharmacy, Marvin was born with both black eyes and hair. He was the son of Paul and Katherine Baltimore Duncan. Both Mr. Duncan and Marvin's brother, Dan, are also buried in City Cemetery. Marvin was an MP in the Army with the prettiest legs I've ever seen. I don't think he ever won a single fight. I met him when I was 12. He showed me how to shoot a shot gun and I was pretty good! We were friends until he died. Marvin and Dan lie together in the arms of God.

His mom used his military monument for a headstone.

Sleep well, my love, until we meet again. Love always, Barbara Smith Dunn
