Born in Poland and immigrated to NYC circa 1870, then moved to Fidler's Green section of Shamokin where he worked as a coal miner; husband of Anna (nee Racicz); father of Jacob, Sophie Glassic, Margaret "Mary" Novey, Frank, John, Harry, Stanley and Helen Murawski and grandfather to many. Father of the famous baseball Coveleskie brothers Stanley and Harry. Gold Star Father as son, Jacob, was killed during the Spanish-American War.
