James Claude Adair, born January 4, 1890 was the son of Thomas C. and Laura Moore Adair. He died on August 18, 1972, at his hometown, Carthage, Missouri. He had been a railway mail clerk on the White River Branch of the Missouri Pacific Railroad from Carthage, Missouri, to Newport, Arkansas. He was married to Ora Trotter at Harrison, Arkansas. Their children are Norman, Lewell, and Ola Mae Adair.'
