| Birth: | 1841 | | Death: | Jun. 13, 1883 |  Civil War Union Brevet Brigadier General. He enlisted as a Sergeant in the 5th Pennsylvania Reserves at the outbreak of the Civil War. By the end of the war had become the Lieutenant Colonel and commander of the 200th Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry. He was brevetted Brigadier General, US Volunteers on April 2, 1865 for "valuable and meritorious services in front of Fort Sedgwick, Virginia". He took part in the Battle of Beecher Island, where he received a bullet wound to the neck.
