Private Joseph Alberico served with the 501th Parachute Infantry regiment when he lost his life in World War II. He was killed in Action when his unit tried to secure a series of bridges in the Netherlands during what was called "Operation Market Garden". After the war his body was returned to the United states and buried in the Denver area. Joseph's wife received his Purple heart and other medals in a ceremony in the Nebraska State Capitol in 2013.
