The funeral service for Mr. Snedeker was conducted on Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at 2:00 PM in the Tetrick Funeral Home, Chapel of Peace, Elizabethton with Father Dennis Kress officiating.

When Philip was about 14 years old, he was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma. His treatment was at the University of Connecticut Hospital which was a distance from his home in upstate New York. The trips were very difficult for Phil, so his family decided to relocate to Connecticut to be closer to Phil's treatments. In 1986 they found a place to rent in Southington, Connecticut. The home had once been the Halloran Funeral Home, later turned into duplex type home.

The Snedeker family'claim their time in the home was a nightmare, intense paranormal activity in the home. Their time in the house was was made into a book, and also into a documentary for the Discovery Channel, it called "The Haunting in Connecticut". On September 19, 2012 the Snedeker story was depicted in an episode of SyFy's paranormal show "Paranormal Witness", which depicts true stories of people and their experience with the paranormal. A movie by the same title was released in 2010, the film was mostly made up by Hollywood and is very very losely based on the true story.

Sadly Phil's cancer returned and sadly he was did not survive.
