VALPARAISO, IN -- Norma Husband, age 90, of Valparaiso, formerly of Dugger, IN., passed away Tuesday, September 18, 2012. She was born February 25, 1922 in Linton, IN to Alva and Tina (Barnard) Bledsoe and graduated from Dugger High School.
Norma was a member of First Baptist Church of Valparaiso, Lady Lioness Club, Cecil Tucker Circle and the Lady Republican Club. She had been the Assistant and Administrator for the Porter County Home for 30 years, retiring in 1988.
In 1939 in Jasonville, IN., Norma married Donald Husband who preceded her in death in 1998. Survivors include their children: Sandra (Al) Knoernschild of Valparaiso, Donna (Don) Mead of Florida, John (Janelle) Husband of Colorado, and Nick (Kathy) Husband of Indiana; sister, Billie Jo (Eddie) Lewis of California; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Lillian Donahue; granddaughter, Kerri Sobieski; and grandson, Matthew Husband.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, September 22, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Moeller Funeral Home, 104 Roosevelt Road, Valparaiso, with Pastor Denver Ayers officiating. Burial to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Cerebral Palsy Research Foundation (www.cprf.org).
