Carl Jeffrey Watters, 54, of Nokomis, Fla., died Saturday, July 25, 2009, at his residence.

He was born in Madison, grew up in Binghamton, N.Y., and graduated from Binghamton Central High School. He moved to Florida in 1978 and worked as a project supervisor for Michael Walker & Associates of Sarasota. He also served as the stage manager for the Venice Symphony for 19 years and appeared as one of the Dum Dee Doo Wahs in the symphony's annual fundraising show at the Venice Theatre.

He is survived by his mother, Mollie, of Venice, Fla.; and one brother, Eric, of Nokomis, Fla.

A memorial service was held at 4 p.m. Sunday, August, 2, 2009, at Venice Presbyterian Church.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Lou Gehrig's Disease Association of Southwest Florida, P.O. Box 11104, Sarasota, FL 34278.

Farley Funeral Home in Venice, Fla., was in charge of arrangements.
