ORGAS - Paul Francis "Jack" Estep, 80, of Orgas died June 30, 2002, in Charleston Area Medical Center after a short illness.
He was a devoted and loving husband and father.He was a resident of Orgas for 55 years and attended Orgas Presbyterian Church.
He was a decorated combat veteran of World War II.He was manager of Pineview Cemetery, Orgas, for 17 years, retiring in 1979.He was a former land agent for Prichard and LaFollette Land Company and a retired salesman from Sears Monument Company, Charleston.He retired from Bethlehem Steel Mines, Eunice, as a motorman.He worked in the mines for 44 years and was a member of the UMWA.He was secretary of Eunice Burial Fund, District 17, Whitesville.He was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of Boone Lodge 162, Whitesville.
He was born at Montgomery, a son of the late Ben Butler and Nina Belle Elkins Estep.He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Alma Atkins and Madge Imbrogno; and three brothers, Roy, Willard and Harry Estep.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Clara Ida Hendricks Estep; one son, Larry Estep of St. Stephens, S.C.; two daughters, Lois Guthrie of Orgas, Nancy Emengo of Charleston; one sister, Nancy Cumi Stringer of Bluefield; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
Service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 3, at Valley Funeral Home, Whitesville, with the Rev. Max Perrow officiating.
