TOOELE Funeral services will be conducted in the Tooele L.D.S. South Ward Chapel Sunday at 2 p.m. for John W. Miller, resident of Tooele for many years, who died here Wednesday at the home of his niece, Mrs. Melvin Rolph, following an illness of several years. Burial will be in Tooele City Cemetery.
Mr. Miller was born in Glasgow, Scotland, September 25, 1864, a son of John W. and Elizabeth Ferguson Miller. He came to America with his parents in 1870. They resided at Spanish Fork for a time, later returning to Salt Lake, and then came to this county, making their home at Lincoln. He was employed at the International Smelting Company many years.
He was married December 12, 1895, at Salt Lake, to Annie Hansen of Clover. About 17 years ago they moved to Delta and for six years he was bishop of Surgerville L.D.S. Ward in the vicinity. The family returned to Tooele in 1928, but had made their home in Delta again the past year, being on a visit here when he died.
Mr. Miller is survived by his widow and eight sons and daughters; William and Edwin Miller and Mrs. Victoria Barben, Delta; Joel and Carl Miller, Rupert, Idaho, and LaVerne, Delta and Velma Miller, Tooele.
