Harry Jansen was a highly decorated Navy helicopter pilot attached to Helicopter Attack (Light) Squadron Three, HA(L)-3 in Vietnam from 1971 to 1972 where he was awarded the Distingished Flying Cross; Air Medal (Strike/Flight); Presidential Unit Citation; Vietnam Service Medal w/3 bronze stars; Vietnam Gallantry Cross Unit Citation; Vietnam Civil Actions Unit Citation; and Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. He was also attached to Helicopter Combat Support Squadron Seven, HC-7 doing Helicopter Combat Search & Rescue in 1968 where he was awarded at least 1 Air Medal (Individual Action); and at least two other Air Medals (Individual Action & Strike/Flight), from another unit he was attached to before HC-7, in 1966-1967, among other awards I am not aware of.
Harry passed away of a heart attack on 11/26/1981, Thanksgiving Day.
