Mrs. Peachie Altizer Fortune, 76, of Sunbeam died yesterday in Logan General Hospital.
She was born June 16, 1898, in West Virginia, a daughter of the late Freemont and Cora Altizer Browning. She was a member of the Sunbeam Chapel Church and the Ladies Auxiliary of Logan General Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Fortune.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Clinton Parsley of Logan and Mrs. Nola Puckett of Beckley; three sons, Emmett D. of Waco, TX, Victor D of Huntington and Erman Ray of Ethel; two sisters, Mrs. Velva Pelter of Sharples and Mrs. Adda Batten of Whitman; one brother, Willard Altizer of Holden; 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. at the Honaker Funeral Home in Logan by the Rev. Rex Browning. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill.
Friends may call after 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
