James Edward Greene, 70, of Rock Springs, passed away on Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at his home. A long time resident of Rock Springs, Greene died following a lengthy illness.

He was born on March 4, 1942 in Philipsburg, Penn., the son of Leslie Greene and Helen McCully.

Greene graduated from high school in Clearfield, Penn.

He married Shirley Kephart and they later divorced.

Greene was employed as a roof bolter in the trona industry.

His interests were spending time with his family and fishing.

Survivors include two sons James Greene Jr. and wife Autumn of Green River and Steve Greene of Casper; two daughters Karen Greene of Rock Springs, and Deanna Kephart of Kingman, Ariz.; three brothers Tom Greene and Les Greene both of Green River and Bob Greene of Arkansas; one sister Faye Greene of Pennsylvania; ten grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
