Byron, GA- Horace David Allred, 65, died Tuesday, September 11, 2012.

Services will be held at 2:00PM on Friday, September 14, 2012, at Powersville United Methodist Church, 195 Lakeview Road in Byron, with Rev. Richard Lanning officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Family will greet friends from 6:00PM to 8:00PM on Thursday, September 13, 2012, at Rooks Funeral Home, 109 West White Road in Byron. Family may be contacted at the home of Christine Borders, 832 Kay Road in Byron.

Born in Byron to the late Horace Allred and Mary Agnes Stokes Allred, Mr. Allred was a salesman with Butler Industries, member of Powersville United Methodist Church, and manager of Powersville Opry since 1994. Due to the death of his parents, he and his sister, Frances, were raised by their aunt and uncle, Christine and Marshall Borders. David was a good man, very kind and loved by all who knew him.

Survivors include his wife of twenty years, Sharon Allred of Byron; sister, Frances Campbell of Rockmart; mother, Christine Borders of Byron; several nieces and nephews and lots of cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Joan Allred and Josephine Roberts, stepson, Chuck Bowden and father, Marshall Borders.

Donations may be made to Powersville United Methodist Church, 195 Lakeview Road, Byron, GA 31008.

Rooks Funeral Home in Byron is in charge of arrangements.
