Judy, 87, died at 1:20 p.m., at the Pavilion Nursing Home.
She was the daughter of W.J. and Ruth (Herd) Skidmore. On May 5, 1962, she married Maurice Bell, who preceded her in death in 1997.
Surviving are a son, Anthony Peter, Decatur, IN; a daughter-in-law, Annette Bell, Upper Sandusky; a sister, Emma Spence, Rushsylvania; and four grandchildren: Erika, Ashlee, Jared and Nicole Bell.
Deceased are two brothers; and three sisters.
She was a U.S. veteran of the Army Air Corp. from 1945-1948, and the U.S. Air Force from 1948-1951. She owned a nursing home in Cresta Loma, CA, for 10 years, then came back to Ohio and worked at Detroit Aluminum, Bellefontaine; RBM, Kenton; and Excello, Lima. She farmed with her husband in Sidney and raised bees for honey. She was the first woman bee inspector for the State of Ohio. She was a member of the Fairlawn PTA for many years ans was on the Board of Education at Fairlawn Schools for 12 years. She was one of the first member of the Perry-Port Jefferson-Salem Rescue Squad. She was of the Catholic faith.
Graveside services with full military honors will be held.
