In depth research of Richardson family.

As is noted in the above, one serious researcher's thoughts are: "No doubt Bushrod W. W. Richardson was named for Bushrod
Washington
. I have not found any references to a middle name or initial for Bushrod Washington, so I am not sure which W. stood for Washington or for what the other W. stood."

Its written that in 1837, his parents, Joseph (1790VA-1838MO) and Emily Susannah (Overfield) Richardson (1799VA-1858MO), with their children, B W W being around fourteen, plus a few others, removed from Loudoun county, Virginia a thousand miles west to a homestead on Spring river in Vineyard, after 1860 Spring River Township, into what, until 1825, was Osage Indian hunting territory, first Crawford till 1833 then Greene until 1835 then Barry, now Lawrence county, southwest Missouri. Included with them was their first born, daughter, (his older sister) Elizabeth Ann (1817VA-1878MO), her hubby Elwood B James (1807VA-1860MO) (first county clerk after Jasper county was created in 1841) their infant son Montalbon (1836VA-1909MO) ("M M" James, Carthage's first city clerk, 1873), and possibly Hannibal James (1810VA-1898TX), they continuing on several miles to Centerville, created 1831 (Chief Sarcoxie's campground for Delaware Indians), now Sarcoxie (becoming a part of Jasper county, but not until 1845), to settle and open store. Father, Joseph Richardson, passed away in October of 1838 (Barry County Probate Letters of Administration, 1835-1853, pages 34-37), his will attested 25 OCT 1838 with son-in-law, Elwood B James an executor.

January 1841 Jasper county was unattached from Newton which had been a part of Barry till 1838, where third son John had taught school and Elwood was chosen, at a February meeting in George Hornback's log home, as first county clerk, recorder & circuit court recorder till 1859, serving new county among others, such as, Judge Thomas G Walton (1805TN-1864MO) and sheriff Norris C Hood (1811SC-1870MO) during his terms as first county clerk, removing family and business to Carthage, is credited with: providing a lot to Methodist Episcopal Church South, near what now are 4th & Howard streets, overseeing daily construction of new brick two story courthouse at center of town's square, 3rd post-master, etc, etc.
