Martha also had two half siblings from her father's line. David James (D.J.) Williams and Sallie F. Williams lost their mother early in their lives but they were raised by their father and Sarah Elizabeth McHenry.
Around 1893, Martha married Winfred Lanier. In 1894, the couple's only child, Winfred William Lanier, was born. Unfortunately, Martha was widowed early in life when her husband died around 1900.
Martha owned the home that she and her husband had shared prior to his death. Many of her brothers and sisters moved in with her and they all lived together for years.
Martha died at her home at 204 Riedhurst Ave. in Nashville, TN from a cerebral hemorrhage at age 78. She is buried in Spring Hill Cemetery with her husband and several members of her family including, sisters Mary and Bennie. Many other members of her extended family are also buried in the cemetery.
