He was best know for his book "El Beso de la Mujer Araña" (The Kiss of Spider Woman), adapted to the cinema in 1985 for Hector Babenco, where he talk about his homosexuality. Others books are: "La Traición de Rita Hayworth" (Betrayed by Rita Hayworth), "Boquitas Pintadas" (Hearbreak Tango), "The Buenos Aires Affair," "Maldición Eterna a Quién Lea estas Páginas" (Eternal Curse on Readers of These Pages), "Pubis Angelical," Cae la Noche Tropical" (Tropical Night Falling) and "Humedad Relativa 95%" that left unfinished.
