ALICE DUGUAY
1919-1998

Togus, ME - Alice J. Duguay, R.N., 79, of Rumford, died Monday, Aug. 10, 1998 at the Veterans Hospital, Togus, Me. She has recently resided on Pine Street, Rumford with her daughter Dinah Guildford and formerly lived in Rumford from 1946 to 1976 when she moved to Las Vegas for 13 years and then to Paris, Texas from 1989 to 1998 when she returned to the New England area.

She was born in Post Oak, Lamar County, Texas on July 29, 1919, and was the daughter of Elonzo T. and Dulcie (Helm) Johnson. She graduated from Paris High School, Paris, Texas, and from Paris School of Nursing in Paris, Texas with her degree as an R.N. She worked at the Oxford Paper Co., as an Industrial Nurse from 1957 to 1973 when she retired.

During WW-II she served as a 1st Lt. with the Army Nurses Corps from 1942 to 1946 and had received the Bronze Star.

She was a member of the Napoleon Ouellette Post #24, American Legion; Member of the VFW Post of Paris, Texas; Had served as a past President of the Maine Industrial Nurses Association and had served on the Governor`s Safety Council during the late 1960`s.

She was married August 15, 1945 in the Philippines to the late Milton J. Duguay who died in Las Vegas, Nevada on July 11, 1987.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Adam (Dinah) Guildford of Rumford, ME.; a grandson, David Guildford of Rumford, ME.; a brother E.T. Johnson of Arthur City, Texas; a niece Mrs. Sandra McHatten of Meriden, Conn.; and was pre-deceased by a brother Mark Johnson.

DUGUAY - Alice J. Duguay, R.N., age 79. At her request, there are no public calling hours, but friends are invited to attend Memorial services 11 AM Tues., at the Mexico Congregational Church, Mexico, ME. with the Rev. Ronald Ashworth officiating. Interment in the Post Oak Cemetery, Post Oak, Texas. Those who desire, please contribute to the Androscoggin Home Health Services, P.O.
