Born Jan 19, 1892, in Johnson County, he was the son of J. M. and Drue Blanton. Mr. Blanton was a resident of Leander and a retired miner and farmer.
His wife, Alta Lemaster Blanton, preceded him in death May 4, 1977.
Surviving are three sons, Estill Blanton, Warsaw, IN, Charlie Blanton, Marion, OH, and Bill Blanton, Bonanza; five daughters, Sola Tackett, Riceville, Lola Picklesimer, Waldo, OH, Ethel Adams, Prospect, OH, Bethel Ratliff, Leesburg, IN, and Evelyn Click, Leander. Also surviving are three sisters, Lillie Blanton, Plymouth, OH, Sis Lemaster, Hager Hill, and Manda Click, Leander; 33 grandchildren, 98 great grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, July 17, in Long Fork United Baptist church at Riceville with Elders Buell Ferguson and James H. Blair officiating.
Burial was in Bayes Cemetery at Swamp Branch with Paintsville Funeral Home
handling arrangements.
