Martha Ann Wilson was born in 1871 to James C. Wilson and Martha A. Brothers. Martha was raised primarily in Crawford County, IL, but she is found in 1880 in Rockwall County, TX with relatives. She married Charles Riley Grubaugh on 3 Dec 1889 in Crawford County, IL. Martha and Charles had 5 children, all born in Crawford County, IL -
Martin Luther Grubaugh (13 Dec 1890-1 Jul 1976), Cassie Ruth Grubaugh Cullins (30 Jun 1892-26 Mar 1976), Noble Isaiah Grubaugh (12 Mar 1894-4 Aug 1924), Flora Naomia Grubaugh Piper (25 Mar 1896-1 Oct 1893), and Charles C. Grubaugh (26 Sep 1898-3 Aug 1911). The family is found in Crawford County, IL in the 1900 census, but, shortly after that, they moved to Rockwall County, TX. Somewhere en route, or after reaching Texas, Charles Riley Grubaugh died. His date and place of death is unknown as is his burial place. The two youngest children of Charles and Martha were place in a Masonic Home for Orphans and were there at least by 1908. Both Flora and Charles are listed at the orphanage in the 1910 census. Martha is listed in Rockwall County with the other 3 children, but the census taker listed her as C. R. Grubaugh, female, instead of Mrs. C. R. Grubaugh, female.

Martha never remarried and took care of the children by herself. Charles C. Grubaugh died in 1911 (at the age of 13) due to tuberculosis. Noble Isaiah Grubaugh died in 1924 (at the age of 30) also from tuberculosis and his death certificate indicates that it was "hereditary".

It is not sure if Charles and Flora rejoined Martha and the other children before Charles died (in 1911) and Flora married Jack Piper (1914).

Martha stayed in Rockwall County until her death in 1939. She is buried with three of her children at Heath Cemetery.
