Lilla was the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. R.A. Cobb. She married Alburtus "Burt" Abee, who had died more than twenty years previously. Mrs. Abee died at Stokes Sanatorium in Salisbury, NC, following an operation. She had been living with her daughter in Spencer but had planned on returning to Morganton for a visit after her recuperation.
She was survived by three sons and a daughter. She was also survived by a sister, her two brothers having preceded her in death.
Her funeral was held at the Methodist church in Morganton with the Rev. H. H. Jordon of Hickory officiating.
