Cora Elizabeth Grubaugh was born in 1894 in Beecher City, IL to Anthony Mathias Grubaugh and Mary Elizabeth Kline. She was the 3rd of 9 children born to this couple. She married her half-first cousin, Walter Aaron Grubaugh, sometime around 1910. Cora and Walter had 9 children. The family moved around alot and their movements are best tracked by observing the birth dates of the nine children. The children and their birth locations can be found in the memorial for Walter.
Walter died in 1951 and Cora never remarried. She died in 1968.

Mrs. Walter Grubaugh (Elizabeth Cora)
Age 78, passed away at 8:30 pm Monday after a lingering illness. She was born March 17, 1890 in Beecher, IL and had lived in Appleton since 1929 where she was a member of the Salvation Army, the Home League and the League of Mercy. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Barbara Smith, and Mrs. Harvey (Alfreda) Buboltz, both of Appleton; and Mrs. Walter (Viola) Schultz, with whom she made her home; two sons, Minion, Appleton; and Henry of Maywood, IL; one stepson, Jake Logue, Argenta; two brothers, Mike Grubaugh, Argenta, IL and Louis Grubaugh, Champaign, IL; four sisters, Mrs. Irene Rhodes, Shelbyville, IL, Mrs. Jessie Dale, Mrs. Maime Williams, and Mrs. Minnie Rhodes, all of St. Elmo, IL; 21 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Thursday from the Salvation Army Citadel with Captain Jerold L. Johnson officiating. Interment will be in Highland Municipal Park. Friends may call at the Wichmann Funeral home from 2 pm on Wednesday until 10 am Thursday and then at the Citadel until the time of the services.
