Born, 1861, at Earlville, Ill., son of Alonzo Jackson and Octavia E. (Norton) Grover.
Student, Univ. of Chicago, 1877-79; studied painting at Royal Academy, Munich, 1879-80; Paris, 1884-1886.
Received first Yerkes prize for painting "Thy Will Be Done," Chicago, 1892; executed mural decorations Branford (Conn.) Memorial Library, 1897. Blackstone Memorial Library, Chicago, 1903. Has pictures in many public collections, silver and bronze medals, St. Louis Expn., 1904.
Clubs: Cliff Dwellers, Little Room.
Married in 1887 to Louise Rolshoven, of Detroit, Mich. Studio: Villino Gattala Viale Michelangiiolo, Florence Italy; (in winter) Art Institute, Chicago, Ill., U.S.A.
