Pauline L. Mackert, 98, formerly of 527 Railroad St., Danville, passed away Tuesday, July 7, 2015, at Vintage Knolls, Danville.

She was born May 24, 1917, in Valley Township, Montour County, the daughter of the late Edward and Mary Elizabeth Farnsworth Cashner.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Felix E. Olshefski Sr., and also by her second husband, Martin Mackert.

Pauline attended Valley Consolidated School through eighth grade and then graduated from Danville High School in 1936.

She was employed in the Laboratory Department of Geisinger Medical Center, from where she retired. In previous years, Pauline was employed by TRW Inc., Danville.

Pauline was a member of Pine Street Evangelical Lutheran Church, Danville, for 77 years, where she was a member of the Lady’s Circle. Her other memberships included Valley Grange 1184; Danville Community Garden Club; Ramblers Club; Golden Age and Danville Woman’s Club.

Pauline enjoyed traveling, bowling, embroidery, gardening and playing cards with friends.

She is survived by one son: Felix E. Olshefski Jr. and his wife, Jo Ann, of Northumberland; one daughter: Carol M. Snyder of Riverside, and one stepson: M. Franklin Mackert of Cleveland, Ohio. Pauline is also survived by seven grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pauline was preceded in death by three brothers: Earl, Melvin, and her twin, Parvin Cashner, and two sisters: Helen Lehman and Hazel Rhone.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Pauline’s Life to be held Saturday, July 11, 2015, at 1 p.m. from Pine Street Evangelical Lutheran Church, 407 Pine St., Danville, with the Reverend Dr. Lois Martin officiating. Burial will be private at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Danville.
