Robert Davis Huss was the second child and only son of Forrest Glenn Huss and Myrle Laura Davis.
Bob attended school in Genoa, Ohio, graduating in 1942. He played football and belonged to FFA in high school and received the State Farmer Degree and the American Farmer Degree. He was always active in dairy farming. On January 12, 1946 in Columbus, Ohio Bob married Audrey Mae Gross. After his marriage they lived on his dairy farm on Holt-Harrigan Road near Genoa, Ohio until February 10, 1968 when the family moved to Turtlepoint, Pennsylvania. He owned the largest dairy heard which produced the most milk in Ottawa County at the time he moved. The area was becoming too well-populated and he needed more land, thus, his decision to move.
The family had many new and wonderful experiences in Pennsylvania. They lived in a beautiful seven bedroom home. The Allegheny River bordered their farm on one side. They had a fishing pond in the yard where Kenny and Kevin spent many hours in their boat. Bob built the children a swimming pool by a spring in a hillside.
Bob cleared the bottomland along the Allegheny River and planted it with corn. Overheard in the barbershop was this remark, "Anybody knows you can't farm bottomland." But Bob had the best looking corn in the area that year. This was not entirely due to the bottomland but to his practice of having the soil analyzed and then to fertilize accordingly, an unheard of practice in the area at the time.
Bob and Audrey belonged to St. John's United Church of Christ in Geno. Bob was a member of the Genoa Masonic Lodge F&AM, the Oak Harbor Chapter RAM, and the Genoa Grange.
Bob and Audrey had children: Sharon Ann, Rebecca Sue, Kenneth Robert, Rhonda Mae, and Kevin Alan.
