Charles Francis "Charlie" Adams was born February 1, 1891 in Paragould, Arkansas to parents, David and Samantha (Todd) Adams.

Mr. Adams lived in Arkansas in his early years. In 1907, he married Mamie Mae Adams. The married couple made their home just a short distance away in New Madrid County, Missouri. Together they had two daughters; Mary and Delphia Adams and one son, Marshall Adams.

On December 4, 1952 at 10:55 p.m., Charles Adams passed away at his residence in Henderson Mounds Community, He was 61 years, 10 months and 10 days in age at his time of death.

Survivors include; wife Mrs. Mamie May Adams of Rt. 2 Matthews, two daughters, Mrs. Delphia Day of Matthews, and Mrs. Mary Cogdill of El Monte, California, one son, Marshall Adams of Matthews Rt. 2., one sister, Mrs. Pearl Crawford of Wilmington, Calif., 14 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Also a host of other relatives and friends. One half brother preceded him in death.

The body lay in state at the McMikle Funeral Home, East Prairie, where funeral services were held Sunday, Dec. 7, at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Paul Presson officiating. Interment, Dogwood Cemetery. McMikle Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
