Katherine Prisock Alford, 92, passed away Wednesday August 29, 2012, at Wisteria Gardens in Pearl, MS. Visitation will be 4-6pm Monday September 3, 2012, at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home in Jackson and 10am Tuesday September 4, 2012, before the 11:00am Chapel Service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Park.
Mrs. Alford was born in Meridian, MS, attended Meridian public schools and Meridian Junior College. Mrs. Alford married George H. Alford Jr. on July 9, 1945, and subsequently relocated to Jackson, MS in 1946 where she lived the remainder of her life.
Mrs. Alford was a member of the First Baptist Church of Jackson, the Joy Sunday School class, and Senior Adult Ministry. She was a long term member of the Amity and Heritage Luncheon Clubs.
Survivors include a son Randal "Randy" P. Alford (Cheryl) of Birmingham, AL; grandchildren Reid W. Alford (Andrea) of Birmingham, AL and Lisa Alford Winter (Russell); one great grand child James Breckenridge "Breck" Winter of Flowery Branch, GA; and her sister Joyce P. Heath (Herman) of Meridian, MS.
