From the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Thursday, May 30, 1935, p. 9:

Private funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. today for Mrs. J. E. Labatt, resident of Fort Worth for 40 years, who died yesterday at her home, 1420 West Daggett Street.

Rev. D. F. McConnell, pastor of Broadway Presbyterian Church, will conduct the services at the home of a daughter, Mrs. E. K. Collett, 1506 Elizabeth Boulevard. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Labatt was a native of Kentucky and moved to San Antonio, where he married Capt. J. E. Labatt of New Orleans. Survivors, besides Mrs. Collett, are a son, Weir Labatt, San Antonio; two other daughter, Mrs. K. H. Beall and Miss Carolee Labatt, Fort Worth, and six grandchildren, Weir Jr. and Blair Labatt, San Antonio; Betty and Camilla Beall, Mrs. Edwin Ritchey and Ed B. Collett, Fort Worth.
