Mrs Mary Hunt Rhines, 80 years of age, passed away Sunday June 20, at the home of her daughter, Mrs Elmer Smith in Leslie township. She was born in Onondaga township and had spent her entire life on this farm until a short time ago when she was taken to the home of her daughter because of illness. Her husband died less than a year ago. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs Jesse Johnson, the Rev. E.J. Cross of Leslie officiating. Burial was in Aurelius Center cemetery.
She is survived by four daughters; Mrs Ed Darrow, Mrs Smith, Mrs Johnson, and Mrs Fred Hopcraft, three sons, John, George, and Joe Rhines, twenty nine grandchildren and thirty-eight great-grandchildren.
She was the daughter of John Hunt who died in the Civil War. Henry Laycock was her step-father.
Some family photos give her name as Mary Lorraine; the 'survivor benefits' papers from death of John Hunt call her Mary Louise.
