PHILIP EBERHART
Philip Eberhart, son of Philip and Katherine Eberhart, was born March 30, 1878 on the family homestead near Grafton, Fillmore County, Nebraska.

When a small child, he came with his parents to Cheyenne County, Kansas, where he grew to manhood, to become on of Cheyenne County's leading farmers.

He was united in marriage to Ernestine Feikert, Cheyenne County, March 1, 1900. To this union nine children were born, five daughters and four sons.

Retiring from the farm in 1943, he moved to Englewood, Colorado where, with Mrs. Eberhart, he resided until his death, June 15, 1960.

Philip Eberhart, during his life in Cheyenne County, and in his retirement at Englewood, Colorado, made for himself a reputation of integrity, honor and industry. His friends were many, he liked people, and he was a fortunate to enjoy a long and fruitful life. In March, 1960, he and Mrs. Eberhart were able to celebrate their sixtieth wedding anniversary. Philip Eberhart, to his family, was a good father and husband, to his neighhors, a good friend, and to all who knew him, a man of tood will, kind and happy. He will be missed by many.

He was a member of the Evangelical United Brethren Church of St. Francis, Kansas.

Funeral services were held at Englewood Chapel, Saturday, June 18, 1960. The Rev. G. Hubert Underhill of the Mayflower Congregational Church of Englewood, officiating. Six of Mr. Eberhart's grandsons acted as pallbearers. Burial was in Fairmont Cemetery.

Surviving Mr. Eberhart are his wife, Ernestine Eberhart; his daughters, Mrs. M. M. Raile and Mrs. Delbert Myers, St. Francis, Kansas; Mrs. Maynard Young and Mrs. D. D. Phelps, Englewood, Colorado; Mrs. T. J. Rotunda, Littleton, Colorado; three sons, Ted Eberhart and Rudy Eberhart, Burlington, Colorado and Robert Eberhart, Stratton, Colorado; a brother, Henry Rath, Sutton, Nebraska; and a sister, Mrs. Katherine Green, Casper, Wyoming, twenty-one grandchildren, and eighteen great grandchildre; other relatives, and many friends.
